I once angain would like to field any questions regarding the upcoming Nationals and give all you Members a little taste of what we have to offer!!! I will not give away to much but here is a litle tid bit.
- 400+ Hand dug Stairs for all you flatlanders to climb
- 2 treestands big enough to land a helicopter
- Banquet Fresh (not Frozen) Chinook Salmon from
Prince Rupert, Roast beef, Chicken all buffett style
all you can eat
- 8.2 km of groomed trail
- uphill, downhill, and crosshill ( see any patterns here)
Bring your boots and a smile the bush is very beautiful this year and with the recent rain it is shaping up to be very lush and green this year with a ton to view as you walk between tagets
Hope to see you all here there is still room availible and it is shaping up to be a great shoot.

Sounds awsome Kent.
Win lose or draw, Team Bowzone will be there.
I'm sure it will be a trip to remember.

Thanks Kent,
My wife and I are looking forward to the experience. We come from flat prairie so it should be a real test.
We are having a terrible time here with insects this year. How are they there and how much deet should we bring.
We will bring rain gear as we have shot in rain in the past but we were wondering if it rains there on a more regular basis.
Next question has to do with the temperature, hot and stickey or a more moderate climate. Done some research on the internet and they said the average temperature for summer was about 20 for your area. If so that will be great. Are the mornings cool that you might need a jacket? This will help us plan our packing.
I notice that you have 8km of trails. Is there a shuttle to get us to the starts and are you having a shotgun start? Should we have a long walk to get to our first target?
Anyway will be great to see your part of the world and we really enjoy 3ds. A great way to spend some time, meet new people, practice for hunting and who knows, I might hit some targets.
Thanks again and see you there.

Kent,
Thanks for the pm to answer my questions. The courses running out of a central area is great. A two km course sounds about right.

archerbc,
Which campgrounds would you recommend around PG? I'm looking for one that I can park a truck camper on for the weekend. Something with lots of trees and where I don't have to be sandwhiched between some big assed RV's. 30 min drive or less. Any recommendations?

the loghouse is on Taber lake really close to shoot location ...inside 10 mins or so ...... kinda open area if I recall correctly ...but yer a fair distance between units ...10 meters or so
Sintich is a Trailer court with Pullthru RV slots ....about 30 or so sites .... My Best friends parents growing up (my second set of parents) live in Sintich right beside RV parking. Its a nice place to park if ya want hookups and yer close to everything
Bee lazy is a nice treed private campground ...Kinda a pain to get at from the shoot
Blue spruce is nice but its one the other side of town from the shoot .....
Boony for a great place about 1/2 hour from the shoot thats treed I recomend Purden Lake Provincial Campground in the Bowron Provincial Park ...... about 45 mins from the east side of Prince George .....Coming from Jasper you will pass the Purden lake Private Campground with Gas services etc.... then about a minute or so later (doing 115 km/h) you will pass the Provincial Campground ..... The private one is nice but its open ....the provincial one is well treed etc ....but the drawback for me is that there is no ATVs allowed in the provincial park
Comming from Prince George you will pass over the Bowron river ..... go up a rise around a curve and the campground is right after that ...about 2 km or so on the left
Dont get confused with the Willow river ...about 30 mins east of PG
See ya at the shoot

Thanks Mikey,
I was thinking about stopping at Purden Lake PP on my way to PG, it looks nice from the pics on the web. It's good to hear from a local since it's hard to get good idea of what a place is like from info on the web. What about north of PG on hw 97, there a few private places: Hartway RV and Salmon Valley?
Where are all the BowZone members staying?
See you there...
if my Ford makes it!

LOL I am actually a transplanted Local ... I lived in PG all my life untill about 6 years ago ...
North on 97 Hartway ....I dont know ...Salmon Valley is nice .... If ya wanna go a little further north (I assume youre thinking after the shoot ....
Windy point by the Mackenzie turn-off is a beauty spot ....stop at their restaurant ...see if they still serve their "WIMPY" Burgers ..... they were fantastic ...and huge to boot (I am sure they used a 1/4 cow fer each burger) .... Bear Lake campground in the Crooked river PP was another of my favorites as a kid .... small lake with really nice beaches ...about an hour north of PG theres a couple more spots up the "Pine Pass" then you get into chetwynd /Dawson creek(mile 0 of the Alaska hwy) area
as far as the Bowzone Team accomadations ... I understand that Sniper and Jackal are staying at Taber lake at the Loghouse ... Warden and CdnArcher I believe are staying on the shoot site in the Bowzone.ca Events Cruiser and booth and I am staying at my In-laws place in town ...I could be wrong but I know I am stayin in a house with a hottub

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!
We just got conformation from the FCA for us to be on course with video cameras and regular cameras to get shots of the action as it unfolds. This is going to be our best event coverage yet!
Can't wait to get up there!!!
