What exactly does this term imply? Is this person a sponsored archer? Do they receive their equipment from the distributor or manufacturer free of charge or at a reduced cost? Do they have an obligation to represent an entity? Are they required to enter a specified number of tournaments per year? I noticed it on several members' signatures and was curious as to it's meaning. Thanks in advance for your help.

A Staff Shooter or PROmotional Shooter is a sponsored shooter. In exchange for promotion of the sponsoring company, the shooter gets company products for a reduced rate or free.

It could be a Bow manufacturer, or a clothing company, or an archery shop etc.

Promotion is this case means going to shoots, using the companies products, talking up company products, helping shooters that use the companies products or services, recruiting new clients, helping the shop by fletching arrows etc, and most of all, being a good and friendly person.

Being a Staff Shooter is more about good attitude and helpfulness than anything else. Being a good shooter helps, but is not the be all and end all of being a great staff shooter.

I hope this helps.

Very well put Wookie....

What the archer recieves to be a "staff shooter" varies and depends on the archers contract. In the end it comes down to a business decision. A staff shooter program is advertising.

The staff shooter has to be adding value to a company.... i.e. creating additional revenue
