Sorry Trav the Lloyd shoot is awesome but the Calgary shoot is only 20 minutes from my house the Lloyd is 51/2 hours kind of a no brainer.

I will be there this year of course. Just don't know if I will be shooting though, since I haven't flung an arrow since last June.

If I am shooting, it will be in Calgary. It is unfortunate for both Calgary and Lloyd that the Lloyd Club messed up on its dates. I had Calgary marked on my calender for that weekend and that is where I will be.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if St. Paul is officially going to be a part of the 3DAA circuit this year?
thx,
Brad

Brad......I personally haven't heard if they are looking to sanction their event. I do know that Travis will likely have some idea on the status of the St. Paul shoot.
Hopefully they do.....as we need a few more opportunities for us "Northerners" to qualify for the championships.

My hinge LOVES those spinning targets!! :super_hap

Hey Travis, see you Saturday morning. Look forward to another great Lloyd. Shoot. Heading up along with Quinton.
I'm still a little P.O.'ed about the confusion on the dates for Calgary and this shoot though.
A little C-O-M-M-U-N-I-C-A-T-I-O-N for next year is in order.
The number of quality shoots we get to see in the indoor season is limited as is, and now one of our yearly shoots is gone. Makes it tough to compete at a competitve level. At least fuel is at a reasonable level to help keep travel costs down.

Calgary Archers contacted the 3DAA and set our dates to accomodate other 3DAA shoots in the province, we had a conflict with Stavely and changed dates. Unfortunately the Llyod shoot had been listed/reported as July 3 and 4th. By the time I was contacted by Travis it was much too late (Nov. 20) to rebook our venue as it is full much of the year.
I'm sure this is going to hurt both events and is very unfortunate. I know our preregistration is down. We debated even hosting the event this year and felt since the proceeds were going to charity we would.

Kevin, it truly is unfortunate, as I wanted to make both shoots. Due to travel distances and work, I am heading to Lloyd. I would like to, however, support your cause. If you could, please post the sending info for making a donation to the worthy cause your club is hosting for. Thanks, and good luck this weekend, both for hosting a great event, and in your personal endeavors.
Take care,
Brad

Thanks Brad I will get the information up later this week and appreciate the gesture.
I spoke with the Llyod club shortly after learning of the conflict and feel both clubs did their best in trying to rectify an unfortunate situation. I know the president of the Llyod club felt extremely bad about the wrong dates being passed on to the 3DAA and also tried to get a last minute change on their venue dates as well.
I hope my previous post didn't come across any other way. I wish the Llyod club the best with the shoot as well.

It will not happen again the person who posted it up as Jan 3rd and 4th will not be allowed to do it again if I catch it, it will be taken off the board.
it seems this certain person has done this before to the club and has screwed up dates for the outdoor shoot before also.
I will be watching what is posted for the club now and will make things right if they are on here wrong

Good luck to all archers and to both clubs this weekend. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it to either tournament due to a combination of these "perfect" Alberta roads and bad tires (too many miles put on during the summer).
Wish I could be there with you guys, laughing and having a good time.

A big "THANK YOU" to the Lloyd club for hosting another successful indoor event. From start to finish......first class! If you haven't attended before, it's definetely one to add to next years calendar....one of the best venues for 3D on the indoor tour.
Woody....good shooting! Good thing that elk target didn't have any hair on it.....you and I both know what would have happened to your scores.
Brad....it was a pleasure being part of your indoor 3D maiden voyage! Well done....keep having FUN and your scores will take care of themselves. The Alberta 3D archery community is lucky to have you in the sport. I look forward to shooting another one with you down the road sometime soon.
Looking forward to next year........
glad to hear you guys had a good turnout, sounds like both shoots had good numbers!
Greg did you shoot open or go back to your pins? Steve was saying you were haaving some second thoughts about the scope....
You going to be in lethbridge?
