Iam in need of a new quad have had a 300 suzuki 2wheel drive since1990 . I wanted a 4wheel drive so today i tried out a honda fourtrak got up in the snow it went 100 feet farther than my daugters 250 quadrunner with poor tires and i had to winch 4 times to get out . So we played in the snow with the 2 wheel drive the fourtrax was two heavy . What iam asking is where is the advantage to a 4 wheel drive. :? :? :?

O bye the way we saw the dest looking griz ive seen it was young and small but had a dark head and a blond body

Once you have used one to drag an elk out into the open, where you can field dress him, you will truly see the advantage of 4X4.
These puppies have saved a ton of sore backs.

We had a couple yahoos try to follow us last year on 2 wheel drives, claiming they could go anywhere we went. They stayed with us until the first hill. The combination of snow and logs did them in.

I shure wasnt imprest with that 4trax in the snow i wonder if all that extrea weigh is worth it as for as pulling an elk we have drug out a lot of moose with a 250 honda trike with chains. But i will probly buy a 4 wheel drive quad.

Hey there Diller try to find a quad that you canswitch itno 4wd when you need it. I think this is a good option. What engine size are you looking at getting. A friend of mine had a Suzuki king quad and loved it.

The newer Honda Foremans can switch from 2 to 4WD and all Polaris 4WD's can switch also.

Kawasaki also has a new one out.
It's a 750cc with 4 wheel independant suspension.
Has electric shift 2-4 wheel drive & controllable front diff. lock.
Not cheap though, about $7600 msrp.
A 750 would probably tow your truck with a moose in it.

You're right Tec,that sounds more like a tractor than an atv!

I know guys who're running the Polaris 700's.Too much if you ask me,I'll stay with my 500.
