OK so I decided to do me up a sight tape and get out for a FITA 1440 last week. Quick tune of the connie and did the sight tape with Archers Advantage.

Used the peep-scope measurement (29")and the peep-arrow measurement (4") combined with the measured weight of the arrow (371 gr) and the measured speed (276 fps) to come up with the tape.

I sighted in at 20 yds and then put the sight tape on the scope, lining up the marker pin. shot at 20 and 30 yds bang on.

Went to the FITA, set my sight for 98.5 yds (90M) and shot. All arrows low center. By the time I was on target my sight tape was sitting at 105 yds.

70 M shoot same, set 76.5 yds on the tape and shot. All low.

I thought my set up was good. Anyone have any ideas what I did wrong?

I found for me that it was easier to sight in for 20 then your furthest distance, ( I am a 3d er so 50 yd) because I too did the same thing as you. I have not yet tried any distance longer than 50 yard with the program. If I do I will let you know.

does AA have a section to build your arrows ..ie: what type and the kind of assories you are using ....

sounds to me that you have a greater drag coef than the program is expecting ....

I use OT2 ... and cant say that I am happy with it at the moment

Did you shoot through a chrony? for your speed or let the program get your speed? I shoot out to 70 yards with my set up for practice and I sighted in and let the computer get my speed and I am bang on all the way out. The program directions tell you that it is best to not use a chrony speed as they can be out because of slight changes in each individuals form, you might slightly drop your arm at the farther distance which would be more noticable

I've used AA to shoot successfully out to 70m. I've never shot past that distance since my focus has been 3D and I only shoot long to tune & correct windage. In my experience the chrono method works great on shorter distances up to 50 yds and isn't bad to 70 yds. A friend has told me that he has tried a couple of programs and none of them have the yardage perfect and he in fact has the opposite problem as you, his arrows hit higher. This may be a hint as to what the problem may be, if your bow is not tuned well, your flight will suffer and as Mikey mentioned the Ballistic Coefficient will be off because of the arrow skidding through the air and having increased drag. There's a couple things I do when I've dealt with this, 1st refine the tune of the bow (never hurts), 2nd resight using real world marks.

I use both Archers Adv and T.A.P. (the archery prog). I find the latter to be a little more accurate however you must have a CLEAR understanding of what is required for info setup to get the best results. Took me over a yr to FULLY understand A.A.
