My first bear

Well I finally got my first bear. I figured with baiting it would have been a lot simpler. But after about 7 trips to the stand this year, I finally had my second bear come in. THe first was a nice Cinnamon/brown. THe one in the previous pictures. But he gave me no shot. But alas last night at around 9:00 I had a black come in from accross a cut block. I watched him approach for about 15 minutes. He walked right under my stand and proceeded to the barrel. He started feeding on a few pieces of bread that I left on the ground. WEll, after the third piece he opened himself up, extending the nearside front leg. So, with a shot of about 15 yards, I sent an arrow into him. He gave a quick yelp and proceeded back toward the way he came. Well he left me a great blood trail, I have to hand it to the spitfires for the holes they open up. Well after a short distance, I found my bear.... so here he is....

Congrats,on first black. Sounds like you were having as much fun as I was.I got rid of all my hunters last week and finally got to hunt for myself. Sat two baits fer 4 nights, lastnight killed a pretty good black. Measured out 6'-2" nose to tail,weighed in @ 270lbs. Gave me 20m. broadside shot, Wasp Jackhammer hit the mark,Awsome death moan at 16m. from bait. Will post pics as soon as I can figure crazy computer out, when it comes to the tech stuff Im strong like horse, smart like tractor!:cheers:
