:x The riser busted clean off just below the top limb pocket of my 3 year old Phantom. :barf: My dealer called his supplier and it sounds like they are replacing the riser for me under warranty. My question is: is there any chance the limbs could have been damaged when the riser snapped? I was at full draw when it happened, that makes me think it would be way worse than dry-firing and I've heard that can damage the limbs.

Has anybody had this happen to them? Does the company usually just replace the riser, or do they replace the bow? I've been a big Martin supporter since I started shooting, but I have lots of people interested in finding out how Martin handles this.

I now have to change my signature as well, If it is broken it COULD be a Martin, I guess. :P

Thanks for any info.

Holy crap grizzly...Hope you're alright!! I have never had that happen before but I too am interested in how martin handles this one. I am not sure what the protocal would be for something like that happening.

If you have a good proshop that you trust they should be able to fix it and check it over. If not send the whole broken bow back to Martin. The proof will be in how it tunes up after the repair. If it won't tune then something was damaged.

Thanks, Warden I'm alright. If you consider nearly soiling your shorts alright. Got a small welt on my arm and snapped the arrow that was on the rest, but nothing else for damage. Yeah, I felt pretty lucky after talking to a few people with horror stories on people getting injured by the same thing.

RodS, I trust my dealer to check it out and let me know if it's safe if Martin only replaces the riser, I think I'll just have a major flinch to get over for the first few thousand times I shoot it!

I'll be sure to let you guys know how I make out with Martin.

May be this is a problem with Martin Bows. I have a brother in law that

has a cracked riser, the only problem is that Martin hasn't OK'd the

replacement. Maybe I'll inform him of this so he can use it as leverage
