:beer_chee I'll give this site a try :beer_chee

I relize trying to find someone new to bow hunt with is a hard thing and is very ,how do I say it? rewarding if you's can click with one another. But , the question is ,is their anyone willing to take on another hunter who is not known to them? Well I've been hunting with a freind for 15 years and he now is done in due to injuries . I'm realy looking for someone to Elk hunt with, to share the cost of travel and learn from one another. Anyone interested email me or pm me and hopefully we can start on a new hunting partnership and everything else that is involved in the sport of bow hunting. I'm a fit 52 year old and can climb the best of the mountians with any one ,but maybe at a little slower pace LMAo, I reside in Edmonton south.

Best of luck on finding a new partner, I've been looking for a bow hunting partner for several years, found several very hard core rifle hunters that I hunt with but usually I end up out there alone... which really isn't so bad :)

Your right ,it's not all that bad hunting alone ,but the only down fall is if something were to happen while you were alone and got hurt and it's always nice to have someone else to help out getting the animal out of the bush. Also like you said, it will be a chore having someone put their trust in me as a partner, bow hunters are a hardy type of people and trust is right up their with giving away secret spots :nutkick: . I'll keep my head up though, thanks .

Very true, getting bowhunters to give up spots is harder than finding Osama  And sitting around a camp fire for 10 days alone does get kinda boring  The safety aspect is what keeps me from doing alot of the hunts I wanna do, I'm sure one day I'll find a partner... hopefully female, 5'8" blonde, great figure, rich as hell and can pack half a moose in one trip :hump:  :)

Hey Kirby, where in the Kamloops area do you hunt for your Elk? I was in Fernie last year for elk for 10 days . Drew on 8 different bulls but had to let off cause of the 6 point rule . Man that was some of the best hunting I had ever experienced in bow hunting. My freind who hosted me said that people from alll over BC come their for their big elk cause of the 6 point ruling. The elk have responded by getting the chance to live longer and sport bigger antlers. I saw what it will do for the heard as I had ample opertunities to take mature bull elk. I would have taken 5 of the elk if I had the chance here in Alberta. The only downfall is the $460.00 price tag,but what the price was, was made up by the landscape and beauty in which the Fernie area has to offer and the time spent with freinds in God's country. Thinking about heading back again if I can't find someone to hunt Elk with here, hint ,hint, hint,LMAO. Come on guys, bite, take a chance, heck I'll even take you into my area for a chance at a couple of whittails that will top the 200 inch mark, here in city limits.

I have hunted elk mostly around Penticton area, I was working out in the ferni area a couple of years ago, saw TONS of elk, and some very nice bulls. One of the guys took a 380 bull while I was their. This year I'll be hunting around Princeton area, haven't spent much time there so it should take a year or two before I'm confidant with the area. I've never even called in an elk! I am mostly gonna be hunting sheep this year I think though.

Might have to trade a trip,:) I've been wanting to go to Alberta for the last couple of years.

This is for all Alberta hunters, whats the deal with non-res hunting pronghorn? I'd gladly exchange a back country mulie or Goat hunt. Or if I know the area Elk.

I never even new about the non res for Lope cause I put in for me & my bud from Fernie last year and he told me when he got his turn down in the mail from Alberta for the lope hunt with me LMAO. This will be my 4th year applying for my bow hunt tag for lopes. Hopefully I should get it,my freind says it's usally a 3 year wait for a archery tag,5 years for rifle.
I guess the restriction is because of the small mount we have here in Alberta and the fact that they are only in an area from Cowtown south to the Montana border. They say it wouldn't take much of a winter to wipe them out either, guess their not a hardy animal in the deep snow, which fortunately we haven't had much of in the last 4 winters. Well that's my read on the lope situation here in Alberta Kirby, maybe someone else will better fill us both in on the resoning behind why they don't allow non residents lope tags. :sos:
