On this rather momentous occasion (at least to me) of my 3000th post on Bowzone, I wish to ramble on a bit. :sos:
I have been hanging around Bowzone since 2002. There has been some ups, there has been some downs, but all and all, it has been great. It all started with me reading on this new website about two crazies doing this thing called the Ultimate Crawl. One of them happened to be our very own Scooter. In short order I was on the phone with Scott asking him just what the hell he was doing! :bs: Very shortly after that Scott asked me if I would like to try writing a couple of articles for the original Bowzone. After some internal debate, I said I would give it a try.
I remember vividly the fun we all had around Calgary, getting together to test new products for product reviews. Some were good, some were bad, but we always had a lot of fun.
Bowzone pretty much introduced me to 3D archery. Scott and Mikey took me under their wings (I am big, it took 2 wings) and drug me to Lethbridge one fine August weekend to shoot a 3D. This is where I met one of my best friends. We have been great friends ever since. I remember on the Saturday night, Shane helping Mikey and Myself with some form issues and Shane telling me to try and pull the cams off my bow. So the next morning in the final round, that’s exactly what I did. I pulled so hard, I broke the lower cam of my Martin! Ahhhh! Fun Times!
Bowzone gives me relief from a, at times, pretty hectic and stressful career. Bowzone, a lot of times, keeps me from getting any work done. Bowzone has provided me with great sponsors, and has opened doors to others that I have pursued on my own. Bowzone has forced me to take a ton of pictures, which is really cool. Bowzone has given me a lot more than I feel I have given it. Most of all, Bowzone has got me shooting my bow almost every day
The hunting tips and ideas that I have gotten from the members of Bowzone are great and the hunts that I have shared with my friends from Bowzone are priceless!
Before you all start to call me ACarcher because of my rambling :mooned: , I should try to bring this to a close.
Thanks to Scott, Mikey, Sniper, Jackel, Jhooey, CACman, Travski, Acarcher and many many others on Bowzone for bringing much fun and laughter to my days. Here’s to 3000 posts and hopefully, many thousands more!
Sincerely
