I've got a similar thread on a different forum, but I thought there might be a few Saskatchewan hunters hangin' out on the Zone that might be able to shed some light...

I'm trying to convince SK Environment that the following is a legal option for transporting a bow on a vehicle. It's the Bowkaddy product used in conjunction with the Bow-Kini bow cover. Do you think this should or would be considered a legal alternative to a "cased bow"?

I'm not a sask hunter...but I think that the set up in your pic should work...but again...I'm not a sask. hunter or a sask. fish cop...so I really don't know.

In the majority of the zones in Saskatchewan we are not even allowed to transport an encased firearm ( bow included) on an ATV during a big game season. These zones include 1-47 51,52,54, Duck Mountain Moose Mountain Sask Landing and Douglas provincial parks, Regina/Moose Jaw Saskatoon Prince Albert WMZ's and Fort A La Corne WMU.

Great looking product and idea Arliss - too bad for those in SK!

I'm not Canadian hunter, but from my perspective, this probably would not qualify due to the fact that the "ammo" and "weapon" are stored in the same "unlocked" case. Whenever, I have come across "transportation" laws, the ammo and weapon must be stored separately and the weapon or the case in which it is stored must be locked.

If you had a lock on the weapon, such as a cable around the strings, then I think you would be in better shape to argue your point.

Just my two cents worth.

On to Saskman:
If you can't transport firearms on you ATV, are you saying that you must either walk or drive your automobile/truck to your hunting areas? Seems silly, but that's just me.

Actually, the bow can be locked to the rack. I'm pretty sure that the lock and the cover together would stand up firmly in court, if it ever went that far.
