yup actually jianshe is more then 50% owned by yamaha and is a replica of the kodiak 400 :) cept this one has a bunch more accessories

looks like the midland brand made in Three Hills, AB. One of my cousin in-laws worked for them as a mechanic and he said that they're suprisingly good machines... I'm sure that the same will be true for you Noob. Good luck on your adventures!
