Hey Guys, I am new to the bowzone and i have been reading allot of forums so and it's nice to see some good Canadian hunting chat. Keep up the good work guys .....

Anyway I was wondering if anyone is heading out in the woods this spring for a 2004 black bear hunt.
I am an advid bear hunter and our season here in Manitoba opens towards the end of April, the area I hunt in has a good healthy bear population with a variety of colored bears. I am hoping to tag out on a good, mature trophy colored bear this year.

Siko, you need to hop over the border and come hunt with us here in Manitoba.
Have they made any decisions on opening the spring hunts yet, is there a light at the end of the tunnel on this issue ?????

Hey Top-pin;

I think one of these days, I will have to seriously consider coming out there for a hunt. I guess there's always a little light at the end of the tunnel if we keep on it, but it doesn't look too promising for the near future. Thank you very much Robert Schaad and friends :cuss: . Still not as bad for me as a hunter as it is for the outfitters here, though...lots of $$ lost :cry:

Hello Gumby, as you can see on my thread above this site "rocks" it's nice to have some good ol huntin talk with fellow Canadians EH .....

Yes I got my elk applications in the mail last Monday and I mailed it out already, I applied for the interlake on my 1st & 2nd choice and RMNP area for the 3rd. I know I will only get drawn for RMNP, I see they dropped the tags in the interlake (30 per area) so it will be tough there but RM has 350 tags available.
How about you what areas did you put in for ????

Applied for the Duck Mountains again. We plain old got tired of the park boundary at RMNP. Hate that bull elk that bugles 300 yards inside the park line. Going back to the Ducks so we can chase em all over hell's half acre!!! :D :D :D
