Hello All;

I don't recall if there was a discussion on this deer on BowZone.ca, but it made the rounds quite heavily over at ArcheryTalk.com. In any case, here's an update for anyone who's interested. I tried to attach a picture, but I'm a computer idiot and couldn't do it. I can e-mail the picture to anyone if they want to see it. Later,

Mike

TWO HUNTERS CHARGED IN KILLING OF TROPHY DEER

DRYDEN - Two hunters have each been charged with six counts of illegal hunting, including night hunting and trespassing, for killing a trophy white-tailed deer.

Gary W. Stroughter, 54, of Baton Rouge, and Samuel F. Stroughter, 74, of Prairieville, both of Louisiana, have been summoned to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on March 16, 2004.

The deer was killed north of Dryden on November 10, 2003.

The animal that was killed has been the subject of considerable media interest due to the size of its antlers. The deer was seized by conservation officers.

Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Dryden District Conservation Officers laid the charges on February 25, 2004, following an investigation aided by Louisiana and Mississippi conservation officers.

The public is encouraged to report natural resources violations to the local MNR office or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Thanks for posting the pic for me, Warden! By the way, just for clarification, the guy in the picture is an Ontario Conservation Officer, NOT the accused.
