I work for the Gov't, I am a keeper. My wife sees where that money is spent. I have a side buisness cutting lawns. I thought it would help me out in getting new hunting equipment. It sure has been easier getting out on longer hunting trips by sliding the warden a few extra bucks. Actually I'm getting fewer and fewer bucks. However I'm still working on getting a new bow and gear.

I'm now a trimmerman at one of Buchanons sawmills. I was a twin band saw operator until they layed offover 100 employees last spring due to the softwood lumber dispute with the states..I'm also a spare shift supervisor which helps out on the pay check once in a while. My dream job is to walk out my front door in the morning and babysit tourist on my own property...guiding fishing, hunting etc.....Pay at the mill is pretty decent but i would take a cut in pay to do my dream job.
captain2k_ca, you don't have to feel so low, you could come work at Brinks if you want that.....lol :(

I'm a Senior Project Engineer for one of the largest consulting firms in the Toronto area (www.mmm.ca). We primarily do land development and project management. Basically, I'm indirectly responsible for paving some of the best farm land in the province.
I could make twice as much money and still not have enough for all the toys I want. The best day in front of my computer isn't half as good as a cold, wet and windy day in a crooked tree!

I work for the City of Calgary. Benefits aren't all that great, but we are so short staffed the OT is plentiful enough that I can usually take a month or so off in the fall for hunting season. It's now 4pm and I just dragged my sorry carcass out of bed to get ready for another weekend night shift. Someone has to babysit the bums, crackheads and junkies that
Cdn-Redneck doesn't take away in one of his dumpsters, plus here in Alberta, the 18 year old drunk kids who can't handle their liquor....oh ya and who's mom and dad are a lawyer. Hard not to love it isn't it?

Thanks guys. The best thing is I know 2 of the guys that work there and they say it's a good place to work. They're pretty laid back and work 4 12 hour days with 3 days off. Gotta like that. A long week end every week. The next couple of weeks are full 5 day weeks but once April rolls around the 4 day weeks kick in.
