I having been shooting my Hoyt Razortec 2000 for a couple years now and even though it shoots very nice, the groups are not as close as I would like them to be, or believe they can be.
I blame it on my Whisker Biscuit, and I'm not faulting them as it worked beautifully for me while learning, and hunting from a treestand.....but I think it's time to invest in a different one, as I believe the fletchings making contact with the wb is a big part of my problem.
I know you've been asked a number of times, but I'm hoping you will be willing to offer up your wisdom once again for me......which one would you recommend for my situation?
Again, only bowhunting for a couple years, do most of my hunting from a 15' treestand, but will be doing some spot n stalk and some hunting from a ground blind for Mulies as well this year.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

I've never tried a whisker biscuit but when I switched from a traditional rest to a drop-away rest I was really impressed with how they work, how much more quiet they operate and remove any chance of tinkering with your arrow in-flight once you release your drawstring.

Traditional archers always have the fletch making contact when the arrow is released. I dont believe a whisker biscuit is the problem, I have a whisker biscuit and consistently have been breaking my knocks with other arrows. I dont believe the problem is the rest. Maybe look at your shooting form and practicing getting more consistent with your ancor point each time you shoot. Try going to a no peep to help you with this. Maybe helical fletching would help.

I dont really know the answer, sure drop aways are great but just more moving parts to screw up while in the field. I really like my WB rest.

Razortec,

How many pounds are you pulling and which arrows are you shooting?

Loose groups can be more of a spine or cheap arrow problem.

68 lbs with a release, and I'm using Easton Carbon Excel Carbonaeros (340 8.8 gpi) tipped with 100 grain Muzzy's.

razor, maybe a little more detail? Arrow length, your draw length, fletch length etc. Also, maybe simply shooting less poundage would really help. I haven't hunted with 68 lbs for nearly 10 years. It's unnecessary and it really affects your ability to hold.

Not a fan of WB, but the hole in the middle really comes in handy if you're out in the bush hunting, and don't have any toilet paper!!

I just put a drop zone rest on my Ultratec and am really impressed. Quiet and reliable. Shoots extremely accurately. Tuned easy.
