I was hoping I could get some advice, I was looking to get a pair of binoculars and I was wanting to spend $500 max. Do any of you know what would be the best value for the price?
Cheers,

I could swear i have seen them in Wholesale .... I know Calgary archery center can order them in ....
I have seen them online at several US vendors for under 300 USD
Mine actually Came direct from Alpen .... as a sponsor of Bowzone ....But ask anyone that I shoot with .... I use em ... if I didnt like em I wouldnt use em ....I also use them for Hunting as well .... The dudes around here that use the Zeiss are impressed by them .... that says alot right there
Canadian Archery was distributing them.

Joey I bought an Alpen 20x spotting scope online at binoculars.com for half the price of anywhere else and the shipping was fast. Everything was in flawless condition (new in box) and the product is fantastic.

You know me for working at Wholesale as long as I have I always like to compare them. I was considering the WindRiver Olympics 10x50 but when you have a limited budget you want to make sure you get the best value, you know.

I use 8x42 WindRiver Cascades and I'm very happy with them as well - I haven't had an opportunity to pick up a pair of Alpens and compare them to WindRiver but I'm sure they're similar.

Never used Alpen, but they are suppose to be good. Bino's I have used and liked are B&L discovers, Nikon Monarch(bad warrant service though apparently), Leupold Wind Rivers.

Just a suggestion, zip down to a camera store that carries the Canon line. McBain Camera for one, have a look through the Canon bino's. I tried a set of 8x30's, bought them and sold my Leupolds( wind river pinnacles series). Optics were better than the Leupolds in my opinion, and cost quite a bit less. I then ordered the Canon 7x42's which are tremendous. I bought them for the brightness factor, bush hunting etc. The price on the 7x42 was around $300. The 8x30 cost around $200, watch for sale pricing. Good warranty apparentley, I have not used that feature yet and do not expect to. Took the 7x42 to the mountains last weekend looking for sheep and for the money, they are very good. Not as good as my Kahles, which are my sheep glasses, but better than the Leupold's. The new owner of the 8x30's is very happy as well. My previous set of Leupold binos were the auto focus model which I loved, somebody else did as well as they were stolen.
Food for thought.
