well started off the year by looking for sheds in march.. i didnt find any sheds but found a skull of a doe and a shoulder bone. late in may we decided to plant corn and some bishops seeds products. last week i went and changed my tree stand position on the edge of one of the plots(i will post pics soon enough).. in the last week i have been shooting my bow for the upcoming season everything looks pretty good..i went out last night to put up my camera and i saw 6 deer.. mostly does and fawns but theres one im unsure of if its a buck or doe.. oh well .. i got some pics of them with my trail camera so when i pick it up this weekend i will post them if there are any.. ive been taking pictures of my shot placements tonight i will post some of those aswell.. working hard this year better get something out of it :P.. and good luck to everyone else

WELLLLLL this pastsunday i decided to go out in the woods even though it was 35 degrees out so i get there and go look up in our plots.. i get at the top of the hill and glass the field.. i notice a brown spot.. look and thought it was a fawn cuz it looked small.. so finally it stands up and noticed two spikes i was super happy.. for two reasons.. 1. its the same deer i caught on my camera which i posted in the photography section... 2. he has grown since.. i kno noticed a heart shaped ball growing on the ends of the spikes.. this is a yearling buck already growing forks.. very good news... actually he was in the exact same spot where my camera took the pic.. anyways i keep watching and he decides to walk out onto the trail im on.. so i figure well hes probably gonna head into the bush to the right.. but he stays on the trail heading right for me.. luckily its tall grass around me so i switch sides of the trail and try to hide in the grass.. he comes within 10 feet of me i could hear him coming lol.. he drops his head and spots me through the grass. he tries to smell me but he wasnt quite able to. so i figured this would be the end of it.. he takes off jumping 2 times and stopping walks around me at about 20 feet and decides to take a nap so i figure well perfect time to go and spot him from my treestand about 60 yards away.. i wait for about 30 mins and decided to move on to the next field.. nothing there except i notice the corn to be extremely high.. around my height 5' 11"..very good.. they have eaten some of the corn lol with no cobs.. bad habit... its like candy to them.. oh well.. anyways i head back and tried to sneak passed where the spike had layed down but he spotted me and took off.. only to stop about 20 yards away and look at me for another 2 minutes then slowly trotted in the woods.. no tail up.. he seemed a little at ease with me there.. wasnt too spooked.. oh well i guess thats a good sign.. anyways heres the pic of this spike...

Update: last night my dad and i got bored so we decided to read up on how to score deer antlers.. we had a magazine lying around explaining how to do so. my dad had 2 antlers so we start measuring they totalled gross score... #1: caught in 2003 shotgun- 108 1/8 .. #2 caught in 1984, crossbow. scored 123 5/8... i love doing this stuff its very fun.. :) the net scores were #1 98 7/8 #2 123 4/8 from my measurements the #2 antler only had a 1/8 difference TOTAL... i thought that was very small...and very kool.. but im no pro so it could have been easy to mess up somewhere.. oh well just wantes to let u guys kno this :).. maybe ill post some pics up sometime.

OMG!.. well this week me and my dad decided to set out and find some private land to ask permissoion on.. well i tihnk its my lucky week,, we found a 100 acre lot with an apple orchard on it that is available.. i almost cried :D so anyways.. next week we will be scouting this area.. the owner is asking 100 bucks a head.. so only 2 of us are going pretty cheap for a good land like this.. it is right in front of a heavily used bean field.. anyways.. just thought id mention this.. pics to come soon

ok well we have finally gotten established in our new place that we got.. theres this highway near where we hunt thats called the 401.. well theres another 401 in our hunting area.. i put up my moultrie on the runway only to find out that my camera decides to fail whenever it wants.. so no pics from that.. we have about 4 stands set up.. one in a hardwoods setup.. one near a waterhole. and near a big deer runway one on the edge of a wild apple orchard and one in a young plantation of poplar and 3 big runways right behind it in some dirty hardwoods. i found my first shed right behind this treestand.. ill see if i can get some pics of our stand up.. we have been going there all this week its been horrible weather.. raining most of the week, saw onl 2 deer.. heard a lot of snorts.. might have to change treestand placement. well atleast with this shed i kno that there could be a pretty good buck around.. this antler i measured it and it would be around 60 inches.if u include the inside spread i guesstimated it would be at about 20 inches. so divide by 2 and get 10 inches.. so this deer last year must of been over 140 considering a lot of the top of the tines have been eaten off. this buck must of been a 3 1/2 year old last year. hopefully this year hes in the 150's :) heres just a couple pics of what our buch looks like
