Nope , I have not had a chance to get out and if I do it will be near the end of the season. To much game ,to little time! Might have to wait til bear season to get back in the woods.
Check out this big tom with only one front paw shot in Washington, The guys buddy called it in for him with a predator call so the big cats can be called if you are persistent. The cat is in a 6 way tie for 7th place in the B&C records.http://www.hunt101.com/img/101891.jpg
I've hunted long tails in the past. But haven't for quite a while now. Tough hunt chasing behind hounds. I smoked a nice tom back in '96. Your right about the eating. Awesome meat.

we'll be able to use e-callers. I'd love to hunt predators with the bow from a treestand using the e-caller and remote at the base of a tree in front of me say 10 yrds or so. Predators are no dummies, i've tried to call coyotes from a tree, they pin you no problem so good luck drawing the bow. Need the caller on the ground to keep their attention for the draw. I've been dreaming about this for sometime now. Wanna do wolves, coyotes, bears and cougars too.
How good would that be? I'd have no reason to bring out the powder burners when we get the e-callers. When we actually get some current animal counts(especially predators) then it should be easy to get things moving our way. When we all find out how many predators we really have they should be able to start relaxing a few rules, bring tag numbers up etc. etc.
