-A week or so ago, the french station ran a clip on a Quebec company making electronically controlled heating boot insoles. The company has been producing models for sometimes already for skidoo and 4wheelers users. These were made to be powered by the machine's electrical system.
They have realized that hunters, ice fishermen/women and outdoor workers could use them too and they came out with a battery pack that supposedly gives you 8 to 12 hours of heating power. Also according to the clip, the termostat adjustable insoles can warm up to a heat comparable as standing on warm asphlat.
I have found the company's website, but unfortunately they have not completed the english version as of yet but it is coming! Also from what I have gathered, an insole system and battery pack would cost about the same as a high end winter hunting boots.
