Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has tried hunting without all the camo stuff on,
has it made a big difference?

For years we were required to wear blaze orange full sleeved jacket and hat here in Alberta.I can't say that camo has improved my taking of game once we were allowed to use it.But then again it has allowed me to change some of my tactics.

anything that breaks up the human outline works .... example a checkerd shirt would work because all big game are color blind ( shades of blues or greys). Movement is the biggest give away, focus more on that and what you have on will not matter .... :!:

It doesn't make any difference as far as I am concerned, I have shot more game in a pair of blue jeans and a plad shirt with a orange vest than any other clothing. I now hunt in full camo but not because I think it works better than street clothes , it just looks cooler. Movement is what gets you busted, they may see you but if you dont move you are usually ok til they get a scent they dont like.

90% of all bowhunters wear camo, my opinion is wear a suit that will break up your out line as i mentioned earlier ..... mossy oak and realtree look great too the human eye when you are at a hunting banquet. If you want a camo pattern that really works check out predator camo, it will work the best in hunting senerios. 8)

You might also want to have a look at ASAT camo. Wierd looking stuff, but it really breaks up the outline. Don't know of any Canadian sources, but the people at Lenartz said they will ship anywhere.

I believe that camo is made just for the Hunters piece of mind that he has blended with his surroundings
It was mentioned in an earlier post That as long as you don't have one SOLID color on you'd be fine. I believe that too!
A very large market was built, making the hunter believe that he has to LOOK like a Tree or his Surroundings in order to be successful

But that's all the fun! I enjoy slapping on my CAMO and seein if I can sneek upon my game.

Next I think I'll buy Or make myself a Guilly suit to see if I can really reach out and touch the animal :P

It's a great marketing plan and it really sells but you probably can get away with different colored clothing such as plaid shirts. I've got some and probably will pick up some more though.

I'm a firm believer in camo face paint or something to cut the glare of white skin though. If you ever look at your hunting partner in the bush you can pick out their face pretty easily. It's amazing how much a few dabs of paint or mud will break up the whiteness. (providing you are white I guess).

i wear camo cause it helps break up your outline and the more it blends in to the background the less your outline will stand out.
