Hello everyone,

Hey there Bowbum, I have never used mechanical broadheads and I dont ever plan on using them. My fixed blades fly just fine and they are always open for business so I see no need to frig around with mechanicals. Thats my take on things anyway!

You want a good broadhead that flies like a field point? Then look no further than Slick Tricks. I had just typed in a glowing review of them, but had a computer glitch and lost the whole damn thing. Anyways, they are awesome....sharp, tough, and impact the same as field point...plus no energy loss to opening blades. Last night right at dark, I hammered a coyote with one at 34 yards. The hole it left was enormous and it went completely through both shoulders with no damage. The blood trail was enough for a blind man to follow and he only went 10 yards before piling up. Great head!!!! You can get them at www.archersnook.com

Being new to bow hunting and archery, with the many hours of shooting and tuning I like the Rocky Mountian Snyper mechcanical, it is a cam action type system that opens up to 1 3/8 cutting dia. I got a 4 piont muley last year and a spring bear this year with them without a problem. I'm trying out the new ironhead 100's from Rocky's this year aswell, they are a 1" dia broadhead, so far they fly just like field pionts.

I shot Rocket expandables last year with good success on whitetails. This year I went to Newfie for moose and wanted a fixed broadhead. I went with the Slick Tricks on the advice of my archery shop. I got a 42 in 1000lb bull with a complete passthru at 51 yards. Makes a believer out of me. I didn't hit a rib which is still to be tested.

I use the Rocket Steelhead 100's. They do as they claim, "Flies exactly like field point of equal weight." I've had no problems with with them whatsoever.

i use the rocket mechanicals, but as the bow i shoot is slower and i worry about the momentum loss as they open i use the smallest diameter as i would rather have it go thru instead of partway thru with a big entry wound i put one thru a buck at 30 yards and i did hit a rib going in and he walked 20 yards after the hit and fell over cool :D :D
