Looking at going bow hunting for turkeys in BC.
Can anyone shed some light on where and when would be the best area to at least find some turkeys.
Season runs from Apr15 to May15, is one part of the season better than another.
Looking at the area south of Cranbrook, is there much private land and are Turkeys associated with it like in Alberta? What is access like to these areas.
Any other info would be appreciated.

ya I'll be there ...at least I should be ...
But its gonna cost ya a new blade for my launcher ..... I broke mine on Saturday ....
Fairly convinced TT uses the same pattern as my GKF
as far as regs ...I wasnt informed of any other than avoid the tall catcus lookin weeds ... to help prevent the spread of them .... I cant recall the name of them at the moment

Trophy taker Spring Steel has only one attachment hole.
Spring steel II blade has two and may fit.
Not sure what else would fit. The "Best" rest Nap I think is wider.

Thanks for the info guys, not sure who to beleive now, Buzzard any good Mikey :D
Westslope will get back to you this week.
Plan on using the bow if I can find a spot with some good sign and a reasonable opportunity. If things look real tough the gauge will be along as well.

Mikey - cost less to go hunt Turkeys in BC for a non-resident than a lot of other things I could be doing! $125 is pretty reasonable to me, less than a canned hunt for boars etc, not much more than a 3D. Now GAS is another thing Turkey goes for 100$ a pound a Safeway though, right

i suppose .... I was looking at big game non resident and was seeing 200 bucks a tag ... I cant justify that very often .... Down that neck of woods I have a few places to stay ... I might look into some gobblers in the future ...
the only problem with the turkeys is that they is too big fer me pot

MATHEWS- There are Turkeys all over the place out here and opening day I expect too see a pile of'em. They should be at least 2 to a truck with a minimum of 6 beer down in each. Chuckles aside I never seen so many people in the bush as I did last year for turkey season. That being said, very few people actually get out of their trucks so other than the roads the bush is often fairly quiet.
I am heading off to work today so will have limited access to the net. I am going through cowtown and do need to stop at an archery shop so if you happen to be/work at one I'll be able to give you more detailed info then. I'll send you my cell # incase.
