I decided what the heck I'll go punch some paper ... I wanted to shoot the Calgary Archery Centres 3-D on Saturday ...But i couldnt as mama had to work ... so I shot Sunday at a FITA 2 at CAC ...First FITA ever I might Add ... Ya I have a new respect paper punchers ..... One fer all the Silly equipment rules ....Dawn asked me if I shot Bowhunter ... "Yea sure" Kevin then pulls my bow apart .. taped up my level ...pulled my v-bar off ...took my Stab off ..... He tried to tell me that there was a speed limit and weight limit too .... I politly told him to :flipoff:
I now know how much I rely upon that Level ... And to think I was bugging Trev about his lost "Soother" (Scope) last year at Lethbridge Outdoor 3D when he had to use his Pin sights after an equip malfuntion
Oh well Now i have a mark to improve upon ..from Mid 260s first round and mid 270s the second round ....
that 300 aint as easy as it looks

You could have shot x's instead of tens like the rest of the grown ups and left all the gadgets on. Good to see yah come out, I gaurantee if you keep up the Target shooting 3D will seem easy after awhile. Except for that damn yardage judging..........I gotta get out and work on that again...
That big target on a FITA II looks so big it should be easy, definately have to stay focused or oops how did that one get out there.

something to be said about 300 fps and fresh ten-test tho ... Got winch...LOL
Ya I am gonna continue to come out and shoot FITA if nothing else to work on my form someplace warmer than my backyard
I might hafta read up on how to score and rules ... Mike Schepe taught me on scoring (thanx buddy )......So many circles .... what is what ?
3D is easy ...outside is 5 ..next is 8 ..next is 10 ...the dime is X or 11 or 12 ...whatever 'pending on the rules you are going with

ssssshhhhhhh.......c'mere and I'll tell you a secret.......18M FITA will dramatically improve your 3D scores. In one winter shooting Indoor FITA I went from a 170/200 shooter on the 3D course to a 190+ shooter. In 3D we can be "good" and still score very well, lot of forgiveness in a 3D ten ring, in FITA you have to be "perfect" to score well, most people who say they can throw a 1" group at 20 yards are lying or can't measure, cause if you can do that arrow after arrow, then you can shoot 300's indoors and that would make you among the top paper punchers in the world. But, if you take it seriously and work at it, there is no better way to improve your form, its instant feedback....if your form isn't perfect, you miss the ten...simple as that. So get out there and start punching the paper boys and girls!!

I refer to the spots as "the circles of discipline" I have been punching paper and actually enjoying it lately ------WHAT DID I JUST SAY ---------
The mental game that I used to think in 3D when aiming was "well that looks pretty good" In spots pretty good doesn't cut it. On spots I only release when everything feels right and using back tension with a trigger sure helps.
Now we will see if I can transfer that over to 3D!!!!!!
