Hey Andrew. I was down there yesterday, but coudn't shoot cuz I hurt my shoulder, but there was a ton of shooters from Western Canada and the states and lots of good shooting. I just talked to warden and he should be back soon. Shane Olson ( sniper) won the whole thing and Mikey (Mikey) won a new Martin Jag Mag. So Bowzone members did well.

What a great time as always!! I shot the best I ever shot on Sat. .... 178 and a 182 out of 210.....Which I thought was pretty good....Then on Sunday...I shot a 230....I would have shot a 240 but I had a STOOPID moment...LOL! We were on station 5 and Paul (one of the guys that I was shooting with) had said that the Caribou was one of the targets that we were supposed to shoot..I corrected him and told him it was the Grizzly bear.....then I turn around and shoot the Caribou...DUH!!!....Oh well...230 is respectable but I would have rather shot a 240. It was a great weekend and Yes...Mikey won the Martin bow that they give away each year. He couldn't have been a more deserving candidate as his bow is the one that I started with 5 years ago and it was old when I bought it. Congrats to Shane and Rob. The winners of the 2 major bowzone.ca prizes, and the rest of the winners of the shoot and to Mikey for winning the bow that I was supposed to win ;).
I was amazed at how many folks down there knew about bowzone and the great reaction that we got from the folks that hadn't. Welcome to all the new members that came from the Iron Man Shoot!!
I also met Al (i can't remember his name on here) from Airdrie. Good to meet ya Al and a bunch of other bowzone members that I can't for the life of me remeber their names (sorry guys and gals..I ain't good with names)
I will be uploading all the pics here in the next couple of hours and then get to the article as well. Look for a post in here or for the article on the front page.

I absolutly had a blast ... I shot ok I suppose fer the amount of 3d tournys that I have previously been in .... 169 /172 outta 210 on Saturday ......Sunday i shot horrible so we are not even goin to discuss it .... But I won A brand spankin New 2004 Martin Jag Mag bow ...so that made up for my dissapointment on sunday  :D ...... People have told me that Alberta has some of the finest archers in Canada .... after this weekend I believe it .... to make top 20 it seemed you had to clean at least one round ...after watchin the steel deer display on saturday I beleive it .....
it great finally meeting some faces to the names here on Bowzone ..... and some future names here as well ......
Cheers .... Mikey

It was amazing how those little fella's held their cool in the shoot off i was standing there with my jaw on floor in awe!!! I shot my last round of 3-D with Kyle and was also amazed once he get's his yardage down he will be deadly, the first 18 target's we shot he didn't shot a 8 or a 10 it was either a 10x or a 5 because he missed judged the distance!!! He ended up with a 222 on his last round so he is already on our back door Warden LOL were in trouble right now LMAO
