Pretty quiet in the wtail department. believe the good bucks are with does -- full moon ending and was hoping the bucks would be moving in the bush (where the treestand is) but saw very little movement last 2 days. Had a mulie doe come by yesterday afternoon, seen a smaller wtail buck with a doe in morning but he wouldn't even look sideways when I "can" called/grunted at him. High winds last few days. sat this morning -- glassed 5 wtail does/fawns in the pea field at first light just before I headed to stand. Sat till 10ish - nothing moving at all and still windy. Snuck out to check another piece of the bush and caught this mulie buck crossing the field and then bumped into the cow moose in the bush while I was just sneaking around. According to the "Moon Guide" the peak breeding runs to end of the month this year so will try next weekend hoping the bucks will start travelling more. Have trail camera set up in a "corner" where better deer were seen earlier but will see. Warm weather to continue -- lots of feed in the bush as well so will be tough.
