Check this out guys this is the new record deer for this province but it was supposedly poached. It was shot in Dryden. Thats about 2 hrs north of Atikokan. We have had alot of big deer taken around here this year. I think its a result of 3 or 4 mild winters with hardly any snow fall in a row.

Is it not still a world record just know gets credit for shooting it :!: Just a question

I think at first they thought it was a new world record but it ends up the Hanson buck beats it by over 20inches. But it is a new Ontario record and it does get recognized for that and can be entered into B&C records. According to the article attached it will be entered by unknown hunter. Beautiful animal though eh?

who is the outfitter and where was he when the americans where shooting after dark. It is my understanding they must be accompied by a guide.

Thats a good question. I kind of figured that there wasn't an outfitter listed in the article because maybe he was a cabin owner in the area and wasn't even hunting through an outfitter. Therefore he shouldn't even have been hunting. I will look into it further and let you know.
