Rutt for what deer or moose?
Moose you can usually count on mid sept to first of oct a good indicator is signs of first frost and more moose activity in an area more sign and tracks. as for deer usually the last week of oct 1st week of nov, but deer are more defined in the way they act bucks have scrape and rub lines that are a good indicator, moose tend to do simalar things but not as easy to find rutting areas for moose are hard to locate and usually in dense areas but they can be found. i hope this helps there alot of hunters more educated then me but I do know what I have to look for and it seems to work for me and my family when hunting alot of scouting is required this year I looked for almost 3 weeks straite to find the moose around the area that we hunt and figure out movement patterns, and next year will be a whole different story.

I've got the same question for ya, which animal you asking about? If you can't find any regional info specific to you then you may consider talking with the local biologist in your area.
