The 3DAA will be having an Indoor 3D Tour this winter. Eight clubs from across the province (Grande Prairie, Lloydminster, Red Deer/Airdrie/Strathmore, Calgary, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat) will host six shoots. Members of the 3DAA who compete in four of the shoots will be eligible for "2006 3DAA Indoor Tour" awards.

Points are awarded in each category to all 3DAA participants. The archer to accumulate the most points in his/her best four placings will win the Tour for the category.

This will be an be an exciting competition and a first for Canadian 3D.

The 3DAA looks forward to your support of the tournaments and of 3D archery in Alberta. With your support, we can make Alberta the "3D Capital" of Canada. Help us encourage the FCA to recognize our association by emailing the FCA President, Roger Murray, at rkmurray@telus.net and asking him to speed up the process of affiliation with the FCA.

Thank you for your support and good shooting!

Can residents of Saskatchewan join the 3DAA. It seems that most of the indoor 3D shooting we do in the winter is in Alberta. Indoor 3D events are fairly limited here in Saskatchewan and here in the SW we are closer to alot of points in Alberta than in Saskatchewan any way. There seems to be stiffer competition and better participation in Alberta as well.

The tour will consist of shoots in:
Grande Prairie (date to be announced)
Lloydminster - January 7 & 8
Lethbridge - January 21 & 22
Medicine Hat - February 18 & 19
Calgary - February 25 & 26
Red Deer - March 4 & 5

We see this as preparation for Nationals in Regina on March 18 & 19, so we will be using FCA classes and rules.

Yes, we will welcome all 3D archers. We have many friends in Saskatchewan and BC who we'd love to see shoot with us.

The more archers that participate, the better the competition will be.

Hi Jude,

So...will you guys be doing the Southern Alberta Tour this year or is this new 3DAA to take its place? Our group from BC will try to make the closet ones that we can!! I used to live in Grande Prairie and you don't want to be stuck up there in the middle of winter!! Lovely place but WOW a lot of snow!

The Southern Alberta Indoor Tour will still be shot. Two of the shoots (Lethbridge Bowbenders & Medicine Hat) will be part of both tours. We have all but one date set. The ones we know are: Lethbridge Bowbenders (Jan. 21 & 22), Medicine Hat (Feb. 18 & 19), Lethbridge SABA (Feb. 4 & 5), Picture Butte (Jan. 7), & Taber/Grassy Lake (March 25). Stavely still has to decide on a date.

Unfortunately, we were unable to meet in December. We hope to have a General Meeting at the Mother of all Shoots in Red Deer. I think, this will be good timing since we will have completed the Indoor tour and will be about to start the Outdoor ones.

We are still looking for a Program Director, and Directors-at-Large (Northwest -1, Northeast 2).

If anyone would like to volunteer for one of these positions, please let me know.
