Check out this pathetic video guys, these guys are a bunch of real idiots! First of all the lion should have never got up if he shot right the first time, after that I was cheering for the lion. These are the rich idiots that dont know what they are doing that give hunting a bad name.

Yes it is the right address. Maybe you dont have the right media player. It's windows media player. Do you have high speed? I just clicked on it and it came right up so it must be something on your end.

 :?
After watching that, I'm amazed that he didn't get shot by his own hunting buddies. People that can fire that many shots without connecting need to spend a lot more time with those pieces of paper with the circles on them.
I was rooting for the lion too, pity he didn't get a decent bite on that arm.
Latest version of Media Player works fine.

Got the video on dial up took a bit of time to load but was worth it for the viewing. Like you said it's funny no one got shot or eaten. I know if I was in that situation I would be ashamed to have that video over the network. They had an opportunity at the start for a shot but after the lion left,it would havebeen better to leave it alone and come back another day. In my books it is not worth the time or consequences if you have to make a bad shot or you cannot make a clean kill. I would not call these people, hunters, I think that the name that is more suitable for them is IDIOTS.

A bad situation for sure but how many of us have never made a bad shot, a miss, or wounded an animal that should have been a slam dunk. How did you learn to blood track? not by instant kills.
Now look at the rucus that followed the charge.
By the sounds of the posts if you were the shooter you would not have wanted the back up guys to shoot.?? Remember that the camera angle is diferent from the shooters angle.
OK they were not making instant kill shots but were they missing??? we don't know.
A lion charges at the speed of a horse., but a horse won't eat you.
We assume that the back up shooters were shooting in a dangerous direction but we are looking at this from the camera mans angle, not the shooters angle.Obviously the shots were in the right direction .Everyone lived.
Remember this was a life and death situation and the lion was playing for keeps.
If you were the target of the lion charge what would you have the others do??Wait for a perfect broadside shot with nobody at all behind the lion in view.
If you were one of the backups what would you do ?
Is there anyone here that can honestly say that they guarantee they would have performed better???Not made a wounding shot.?not missed a charging lion?
have you ever seen a lion up close?? when they walk up to your truck window they look you in the eye.
I don't think so.

In my opinion if you cant make a kill shot on a dangerous animal like a lion , grizzley of cape buffalo etc , you have no business shooting at it at all. I think those guys are really lucky to get out of that one with out someone getting killed. Looked like a bunch of rank amaturs to me that couldn't shoot. Most likely a canned hunt on an exotics ranch. Notice the fence posts to the right. The worst part is they didn't keep the tape to themselves. They should be ashamed but it looks like they are actually proud of that stunt. I dont think you can compare these guys to real hunters.

I bet they were sure that they could make the kill shot.
Every time I take a shot I am positive it will be a kill shot, but it does not always turn out that way.
In fact every hunter that takes a shot should feel that it will be a kill shot or he has no business shooting.I doubt that anyone will disagree on that but is there anyone that hasn't missed? or worse yet wounded?
It is not right to take any shot if you are not sure of a quick Kill regardless if its bambi or a lion.
We take shots that don't always end up as planed.
Showing the video at least lets us see what can happen.
Hiding the video is like wounding an animal and not telling because of the fear of ridicule.
A final note , I think it took guts to see the lion thru to the end and not run..So Sir hunts a lot.. what would you have done if you were in the shooters position? or a backup position?
Do you honestly believe you could stand your ground and have the lion knock you over? The man had nerves of steel to do that.
As for a high fenced hunt, it may have been but someone forgot to tell the lion he was a pet!!!

Plastic Pail ,it would be nice if everyone out there with a gun was sure they were making a killing shot! But beleive me there are people out there that dont even know where to shoot to make a quick clean kill. I have met some of these people that read a magazine, get a rifle and think they are a hunter. There's people out there that should not have a gun in their hands. I used to guide and have met hunters that did not know enough to be in the woods. I had a guy one time that I had to show how to use his gun. He had not fired the gun and asummed it was at zero, was going to climb up a tree with the gun loaded and had no idea where he should aim at a bear. A friend of mine was riding a horse in an open field and a couple "hunters" shot the horse he was riding thinking it was a moose . I guess they didn't think it was strange that a man was on it's back. From what I see on the video I think those guys were involved in something they did not have the experiance to handle. They got lucky and every thing turned out ok for them but I feel sorry for what the lion had to go through. There are a good amount of people with guns out there that really have no idea about hunting or weapons.
I'm sorry Plastic pail but I cant praise these guys in any way. This guy was obbviously not to confident in his ability if he had to have 3 guys backing him up. I think by putting out the video that it just gives ammo to anti hunters, it sure does not put hunters in a good light when they are seen doing things of this nature.
What would I have done if I was the shooter ? I would not have been on a canned hunt in the first place but if I was I think after it went down the first time I would have put a couple more bullets in him while he was trying to get up instead of waiting until he charged. They had plenty of time to finish him before he got up. The lion seemed pretty content to go the other way until he shot him so I dont think he was out to get the guy, wounding him kind of changed the lions attitude. As far as them not running ,what choice did they have ? You cant out run a lion so either shoot or die for sure. At any rate we all have our opinions and it makes for good conversation. Nothing personal Plastic pail but I dont agree with you on this one as I am sure there are many that would not agree with me. At any rate it's been a blast exchanging veiws on this one.

hmmmmmm I would hafta wait till I get home to watch it again but I seem to remember that the weapons used in that vid didnt seem that big ..... It might be the angle ...or the camera distance .... But fer damn sure if I ever go huntin african game it fer sure would be a large caliber rifle .......I ain sayin you need a .50 but fer the most part unless yer huntin deer like creatures like gazelle you might wanna take something bigger than a .270.....
My point is take the proper weapon for the game that yer after ..... I seem to remember the first impacted shot looked pretty good .... and probally with the correct Ammo it woulda dropped the animal ....

 8) :?
I'm with you on that one sir_huntsalot.
I've seen so many stupid hunters over the years, that the only two people that I hunt with now are an outfitter and a retired outfitter.
At least I don't have to worry about one of them shooting me.

Big difference here is that it was a real hunt that lasted nine days, he deserved the bear! Very dangerous though! Big bears and bows is a risky game, I know I'm not ready to try a grizzley with a bow, not from the ground anyway. I guess these guys had the balls and did an excellent job in a dangerous situation, no fences in sight on that video.

All I can say is I wonder who did laundry on those two hunts???
If you're gonna hunt dangerous game you had better know full well that the animals you're after have the capability to x you out and they may occasionally use it to the best of their ability. If you are a bit slack in something you could very well pay the price. I think the lion turned just as the guy shot resulting in the bad shot. Personally I think the shooter messed up by not waiting until the lion was completely still. Without any of us being there though it's pretty hard to judge what happened. The guy hunting the grizzly with a Black Widow needs his head examined I think.... but too each his own!!

personally after seeing the shit that the bears in the area that they were in ...(close to where i grew up) can do ...they were nuts and a pointy stick is not enuf weapon fer a big North BC grizz ...... at least somone had the presance of mind to bring along a thunder stick because it was needed .....
