Hi everyone. Great website. I am a longtime hunter, but new to bows.

I stumbled across this site after buying my first bow. A guy I work with wanted to buy a new one, sold me his old one cheap. It is an older Martin Cougar Magnum. I know a guy should go somewhere and get one properly fitted, etc, but the price was great and I have never shot a bow before, so I figured this was a good way to start. Went out with him to a range after he got his new one and he gave me some great tips and I managed to group them to about 1 foot at 30 yards by the end of the day. I have a long way to go, but it's a start.

I know I have a lot of shooting to do before I am ready to hunt live game, but I am looking forward to it. It is definitely more fun than target shooting a gun. I just have to learn my distances and pins. I have a couple tree stands up where I hunt, may go out there and learn my distances to the shooting lanes, but honestly, I don't think I'll be ready for this years' season. It's only fair to the game to go when I can safely place a kill shot consistently.

By the way, I am more than a little excited that my TV service provider just announced that WildTV is coming this fall! I have been writing emails like crazy and whenever they called me for anything, I hounded them about it. I like to think that I had something to do with it coming. There used to be a few hunting shows on TV Saturday and Sunday mornings, my son and I would get up and watch them all. We loved it. They then changed the format and we don't see them anymore. Can't wait to see them again.

I am sure I will have some questions for you all in the future. Thanks for the welcome.
