Too bad this poor bugger died as roadkill. Apperently the finder can't keep the head, it belongs to the gov't :321:  . They will sell the head worth about $500

I don't know, I can't see why he couldn't tag it and keep if he wanted it for the head.

What a deer! Is that a joke about the gov't keeping it to sell or does that really happen out there. Bieng from northwestern Ontario i've never heard of such a thing. If an animal gets hit here as long as the victim in the vehicle don't want it,its first come first served. I salvaged a nice sized cow moose last winter thanks to some little car. Ironically the license plate said PETLOVER haha. oh ya and a little doe just outside of town.yummm!

yeah, I hit a deer last year on my way out deer hunting. Anyway I call the CO as there is damage on the truck and I let the cops know too for a police report. When the CO shows up he made me tag out on the deer in order to keep it. Otherwise they say they butcher them if they aren't too badly wrecked and give the meat to food banks. It's a good idea if they actually do this. I grabbed one this year I saw get smoked on the highway. Butchered it and froze it packs for the dog, she loves it.

That really pisses me off that the governement would take it away...if I found it, they could have it after it had a visit from my hack saw...then lets see how much its worth to them. :pissed:

where i grew up ....BC ... the meat from a road kill is butcherd ...if it aint all trashed and sent to food banks ... as far as heads and rest of the hide goes I seem to recall they get destroyed ... I personally cant quite figger out why anyone would want it ..... I mean its a nice buck ...dont get me wrong ....But I didnt kill it ...therefore I dont want the trophy

But thats just my way of thinking

It is always a shame that a great animal like that gets it by a car ..... another aguement against those tree huggin granola eatin hippies that are triing to save the world by lobbyin for more unhuntable land reserves and plowing super highways thru them so them and their familys can see pristine nature in their Honda Insight ....... That my friends is nature upclose and personal ....... I dont know what hit that deer but I do know what a fully mature buck will do to a small throw away car like a chevy sprint travelling at 100kph (only about a million or so of them on the road)....Neither the deer or any of the 3 passengers in the car survived :(

Have a read here, this should show you the mentality of the government,

That's the government for ya, I have come to the understanding that they do not have much in the way of rational thought. eg. (gun control). I compare the mentality of some of these people to Homer Simpson. Hey at least I like Homer. :flipoff: to to the government :!:
