Does anybody know how to change or alter your IP address to either appear different or actually be different? (other than unplugging my modem for a week?)

Chris .... whered you get banned from this time....
LOL
there is a few ways to do that depending on what your connection is
the easiest way is to turn off your modem for a few minutes
the other to run your ip config program thats built right into windows

My modem was unplugged all night and it didn't change. I've also ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew ed a couple times but that dosn't help either. When I went on holidays I unplugged my modem for 6 days and it was changed when I got back, but they're onto me again so I need another new one lol. :nono:

probally because of your location and your provider ...and/or you email... either physically move across town to another substation or change your provider ...... when you unplugged yer modem didja just disconnect the power or the everything .......cable line etc....
yer config program will typically change the last few digits of yer IP addy because of other protocalls involved such as physical location etc....
for example ... If I were on Shaw at my house ...my IP addy would be extremly close to Scotts as we live ..or did live ...in close proximity.... probally off the same substation But because I use Telus DSL as my home connection our IPS are totally differant ..... the only thing common is the first 3 digits stating that were are both canadian connections.....
Also with the correct software (Availible on Nortons website) you can physically track down any IP to with a few city blocks
just some food fer thought

Well, well, well - I actually went to visit the darkside today (the other board) and I'm not even sure why, it's been almost a year since I was last there but this time I didn't even login, just got curious for some reason.
Not sure exactly what you did or said Chris but there is sure a commotion over there :D
The attitude of gratitude is not very prevalent over there and that's one of the biggest reasons why I don't bother with that community anymore.
Once again I'd like to the thank the staff at BowZone for making this site what it's meant for and to collectively promote everyone to enjoy that privilege. This is a great forum and a great group of people.

I am one that has been banned from that forum also. (R.M. is a %^**$). I followed wt's posts and he didn't do anything that others haven't done. I have found that you can't have an opinion on that sight. If you agree with the mods than your alright if not you get banned. I have been able to visit their forum lately (don't participate) and it has slowed down immensely. I guess they will learn the hard way.

The forum in question is chalk full of personal agendas by the admin and mods. It is ridiculous. Never, ever have I seen anything like it. Kinda funny, he runs his business like he does, ****ing of many people, but yet we line his pockets because he is the publisher of the Alberta Hunting and Fishing regs.
I no longer buy the Alberta Outdoorsman magizine he publishes either, because I just plain do not like him.

Grunter's quote
"Once again I'd like to the thank the staff at BowZone for making this site what it's meant for and to collectively promote everyone to enjoy that privilege. This is a great forum and a great group of people."
I fully agree with this statement. I no longer Arch (shoot arrows) anymore. But I enjoy visiting this sight as a member. I have met a few of the pro staff and they are top notch personalities.
I am also glad that others realize what kind of %^**& goes on on that other site. I thought maybe it was just me.
