Hi,
I shoot Carbon arrows and people tell me that they are more efficent, I understand how they are stronger and more durable but how and why are they more efficient. I currently shoot Carbon rebels, a fairly cheap arrow, nothing wrong with it I don't think...what do you get with shooting the more expensive Carbon arrows? thanks for any guidance here :-D

for the majority of us you get more expensive arrows, that's it.
Most shooters are not good enough to tell the diference a couple thou. straightness makes.
I shoot easton light speed, excell and epics. All are inexpensive and shoot great.

when it come to more efficent a carbon arrows stiffness and straightness memory keeps the energy focused behind the point better than aluminum so you get better penetration when hunting.all the articles i have read on penetration testing seem to say same thing 20 to 30% better penetration than aluminum.the more you spend on carbons the more conistent the straightness weight tolerence and staightness memory,i have seen bent carbon arrows some right from manufacturer some from being bent while pulling out of targets.this i where memory comes in.we took some different brands and held them bent for about 5 seconds then checked them for straightness, some returned to their same straightness right away, some tookanywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to return to their original straightness and one had to be straightened to get it back in shape.price can reflect layers of carbon and finish of shafts.for example the easton epics and excels, which are great shafts for the dollar, excesl have multi laye wrapped carbon fobers with a smooth matte finish, epics have high strength C2 carbon composite fubers with a micro smooth finish.this may make a difference knowing that that one is made from a little better material with a little better finish.look around at the indoor and out door ranges and ask guys why they are shooting certain.
