When shooting a bow with a overdraw does the overdraw have the effect of shooting a shorter brace height?

Because the arrow is supported so far behind the throat of the grip, any bow torque is amplified, thus acting in the same way as a short brace height bow. So, yes it does.

If you have an overdraw on your bow myself I would get rid of it overdraws in my opionon are just one more thing to shake loose and give you problems. I shot an overdraw for a few years and had nothing but trouble with it. Plus if your hunting I wouldnt want it because you really dont want to be drawing the broadheads behind your hand if something went wrong. I've seen what arrows do when they hit your hands it's not pretty and that was with a field tip not a broadhead.JUST MY THOUGHTS

Thanks for the info,it was as I thought about the brace height. As for put an arrow into my hand this overdraw goes right up to the riser.I bought this bow last year and it came with the overdraw allready on,it is also my first bow,and I am getting good arrow groups with it.I am thinking obout getting a newer bow now. Alonger brace height should improve my shooting, right?

A longer brace height makes the bow more forgiving to shoot, yes. The only way to really improve your shooting is to practice properly. Work on having the correct form and your shooting will improve by leaps and bounds.

As a relitive new comer toarchery[1 year]the question wasmore theory then a short cut to improve shooting. As for practise I shot about 150 arrows 3 to 4 times a week to improve my shooting. As I have not had any instrutors most of what I know is from read books and the internet. On a good day I can get sub 3" groups.
