What is the best bang for your buck when buying a new bow? Any suggestions on which bow performs best but isn't going to break me to buy it?

Harv, look at the Champion models. Alot of bow for the money! Also, look to find a PSE Thunderbolt LC. They are now discontinued, but some dealers should have some left. It is a champagne bow with a beer price tag. I have a 2001 model and just cannot let it go. An Awesome bow!

I'm gonna wiegh in with the new Martin Slayr
35 inch axle to axle
With the new nitrous cam
330+ fps
and supposed to be very forgiving.
And only between 700 and 800$
Pound for pound a very good bow.

first find bow with a grip you are comfortable with, not one you have to adjust your hand all the time. no matter how good a deal or how fast make sure you like and are comfortable with the grip.once you find a line of bows with the right grip then take a look at what fits your budget.
what i have seen for new bow for 2004 the reflex timber wolf is a greta bang for the buck 315 fps 650.00 retail.a little higher price you might want to look at the pse mach 12 about 850.00 retail.

All good to know but I can't buy a bow now I just bought a new muzzle loader...shesh hey...but I know my dad is looking to buy a new bow maybe this year. I am stuck with the old loud bow I have...but you know the new string and cables did make a difference and I shot it at Jim Bows the other day and it was a whole lot quieter.

Hey cacman you have any tips for making a bow quieter? I have a Pro Sport/Pro Force bow that is about 5 yrs old.

Try Limbsavers Harv. If you don't have any that will help some as well as a good stabilizer. GKF Tranquilzer, Doinker , Simms Modular are some that would help a little.

Thxs, I have limb savers on it and a stabilizer but maybe I will try another stabilizer as I am not sure of the quality of the one I have now. Willing to try anything right now.

hey harv 3589
depends on type of noise your getting. string noise ,quiver rattle or hood noise.go over your bow make sure the bolts are tight.if your bow uses draw modules on cam or camsss, chek them a loose module can make a lot of noise.come down to the centre and we can have a look and listen.you can try out different stabilizers if you want.sims also has more than just limb saver to quiet down bows.

The noise is like a snappin sound when I shoot (not string noise I dont think??) I just had new string and cables put on and it helped some but still some noise. Maybe I should jsut come in to see you and let you look at it...be alot easier I think.
