View Full Version : Blazer Vanes Vs. 2.25 quick spin
Anyone try either of these vanes I am shooting 285/290 fps. and want to get the best flight I can achieve with 100Gr. fixed 3 -4 blade broadheads and want to look closer at Fletching to give better control of a 390 gr. 29" carbon arrow . Would appreciate hearing from you if you had a chance to test either of the above
I have been shooting the Blazers for a few months now and I can honestly say they are great. My accuracy out to 75 yds. has improved using the blazers with 100 gr. slicktricks and goldtip XT 55/75 shafts, they have proved to be very durable, quiet and more stable in the wind than my past 4" vanes. They are worth trying..

Quick spins are awesome for accuracy.... but the speed really seems to drop off at about 40yrds down range..simply due to the design of them .... I have no problem using them for shots under 55-60 yrds ..... Blazers ...Dura vanes .... I use Dura Vanes right now ... 1.8" for target and 4" on my hunting arrows
I decided against the quickspins for the following reasons : noise in flight, weight of the vanes, loss of down range speed, the cost. The blazers are quiet, light weight, no speed loss, and affordable. As an added bonus they really perform well in cross winds,(compared to my previous 4"dura vanes) which we have plenty of here near Cowley and the Pass. The only problem has been adhesion the Bohning Platinum glue recommended by Bohning doesn't work even following thier shaft cleaning procedures. Goat tuff sticks them on and pliers can't pull them off.
I'm also using tyhe same combo- Blazers and Goat Tuff....Never had them come unglued.
