I am a bowhunter who is looking to get into FITA style archery and also 3D. What should I be doing to prepare myself? Am I out of my element or will I do allright? I just want to target shoot for enjoyment and off season practice.

You are definately not out of your element. To start out in the FITA shoots maybe look at doing a 900 round which is 30 arrows at 55m 30 arrows at 45m and 30 arrow at 35m all at a 122cm target face. For a full fita you distances are 90m 70m 50m and 30m. You may also want to check out field archery which is like a 3d shoot but with regular targets rather than 3d animals. Check out www.fca.ca for more info :D
