Back in the early 80's I use to shoot at indoor 20 yard events in Northern Virginia. I enjoyed it very much. It was sanctioned by NORVA if memory serves me.
I'd really like to find some indoor shooting events in Central Virginia. Seems as if most shooting around here is Outdoor 3-D stuff.

I just had a lower back op on thursday at 1pm and got home on sat. Got about 7"cut and 20staples. Operation is called "Laminectomy" When they go in they found out was worse than they thought so took out more of damage. Woin't be able to shoot bow for 6 weeks or so. Then be getting ready for the Iowa State Pro-am again in Jan. Gonna miss out on earley bow season here. charlie

I shoot tournament target archery as much as I have time for. Mostly NFAA field archery, local shoots, state tournaments, sectional and national shoots. I finally broke 550 on a field round this year at the nationals.
I have shot in some FITA outdoor events but not many.

I just saw the post by MAG41,
I don't think you shot indoors at NORVA, we don't have an indoor range. Maybe it was at Prince William archers in Brentsville?
They will be shooting indoors on Satuday and I believe Thursday nights starting the first weekend in December. I'm looking forward to it.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Tim Starcovic, just joined your forum and wanted to introduce myself. I live in north central PA and have been bow hunting for 29 years (with some major lay-offs while serving 20 in the USAF). I’m a do-it-yourself kinda guy and even built my own arrow saw and plan on getting a string jig soon to build my own strings. One thing I enjoy doing a lot is shooting long distance, right now I’m comfortable at 120 yards keeping a fairly consistent 12” group. Comfortable meaning that I’m not worried about having to go looking for arrows at that range using my Morrel Outdoor Range bag! LOL… I’m kinda stuck at 120 unless I move my peep and readjust my anchor to get more arrow clearance under my scope.
I just got into competitive archery this summer attending my first 3D shoots (shot a 289 average) and signing up for an indoor 3 spot winter league at my local archery shop (Appalachian Sports) scored a 584 my first go around. I can't hold my hunting rig (HCA Carbon 4-Runner) as steady as I'd like, I’m hoping my new bow will help there.
Anyway, my new bow is scheduled to arrive today, an 05 Hoyt ProTec in Fusion! I've been waiting for it for 2.5 months... and I am FRIGGIN excited!!!!!!!!!
Now... I figure that there is a plethora of bow knowledge and experience here and I’m soliciting advice on outfitting the bow and what to or NOT to do. Following is a list of accessories I have laying around for it, that are by no means etched in stone. I mean, that if most of you say not to use blah but use this ________ instead… I will do just that!
Rests – Bodoodle Pro Lite 560, GKF TKO Target model
Sites – K&K Tigerseye 38 (Sureloc knock-off). (If you want more info Email me…), Copper John Hunter
Scopes – Older Specialty Archery 4X center drilled, HHA Optimizer Rheostat w/no lenses yet, and a cheap “Sniper” scope that I like.
Stabilizers – K&K 28” w/rubber coupled end weights (Easton A/C/E VRS knock-off) w/homemade offset bar, 7" Doinker w/Martin wing.
Sling – Paradox
D Loop – Under nock with a tied nock point
Releases - Tru Ball Ultra 4, BT Gold 4, King George Extreme, Cyclone. Copper John Eagle 4
Peeps – Old Specialty Archery super peep w/ an unknown powered lens in it, a good old Fletcher true peep.
Arrows – Indoor – Easton X7 2515, 3D – Carbon Express CXL select 250, Long Distance - ??? I have been using Carbon Express CX 300s.
Fletchings – I have 75mm Kurly vanes, 2” feathers, 3” Duravanes and 5” Bohning vanes that I cut down to make Blazers.
Holy heck can I rattle on or what???? OK I’m done!
Tim

Hi Charlie,
I'm new to the site and new to the sport. Olympic style shooting is what interest me most right now. I have a compound but it stays home for now.
I think I'm the only person in my club that shoots what I shoot, recurve with sight and stabilizer etc. I can't understand why but it seems like it's not a popular style in the club I joined.
Cheers,
Trevor
