I will get it started. In Archery Al, there is always room for improvement, whether you are a raw rookie or a seasoned veteran. Sometimes a few well placed lessons during the development of a competition archer can be extremely beneficial to ones shooting progress.
What do you recommend for a training program for an archer interested in competition? Do you provide private lessons? What kind of rates could we expect? Can a top flight archer be self taught or is there just too many downfalls alonfg the way?
Thanks
Trev

ok now that we have computer problems out of the way we can get down answering your questions.
yes i believe everyone can benefit from spending time with a coach.both from a physical level and a mental level.i have seen top archers shooting and have a coach mention one small thing about their form and watch their scores go up.it does not matter whether your just starting out or you have been shooting for ages a second opinion on your form can really make a difference.at the centre we have several nccp certified coaches that do private lessons, the going rate is 25.00/hr.they watch you shoot and help you work on your form.for a serious competition archer whether 3d or target a set schedule can really help.i was just listening to olympic gold medalist and mental training coach lanny basham and he said one day aweek won't do you any good 3-4 days aweek will keep you at your present level,5-6 days aweek will bring improvements, this for an already top level shooter.and when your there you need to shoot.example, three guys go to the range.first guy unpacks his bow puts it in the rack, gets a cup of coffee and does not touch his bow alnight until it is time to leave then he packs up and goes home.second guy gets his bow out shoots about 10 arrows has a coffee and maybe through the course of the night shoots another 10 arrows at most.third guy gets to the range gtes bow out and starts shooting.he may take a 5 minute break but he spends the whole night shooting and working on different parts of his form etc.now if you ask all three what they did last night they will tell you they went down to the range shooting their bow.
