HI guys, sorry I don't post over here, but I do visit from time to time. I keep pretty busy over at Realtree.
We need your Canadian vote .... please

OK guys. We need all you Canucks who visit this board, whether you participate in the forums or not to vote on the front page of http://www.realtree.com/.
For all you guys who visit other forums, it would be great if you asked other Canadians to come here and cast their vote as well.
Shaw cable will be monitoring the poll count, so now's your chance to be heard.
Lets get our hunting shows back in Canada.

This is not meant to be a solicitation for Realtree.com ...just asking for your vote on an important issue...thanks

Looks like the one on the front page is being sabotaged by someone, so I'll start one in the Canadian Forum.

Bleh...(great name by the way)....We are working on getting all of the carriers across Canada to pick up the channel.

What you guys can do is go to this page:

http://www.wildtv.ca/howtoget.html and contact your cable companies. There's a sample letter there to send off to them.

We need as many people to do this as we can get!!!

Thank you guys and thanks to anyone/everyone else who comes over and votes. Even if you don't use shaw cable, your vote gets us all that much closer to getting our hunting shows back again, here in Canada.
I keep writing Shaw and bugging them, and keep getting the brush off, but as long as we all keep letting our voices be heard, something is bound to crack open for us.
Don't be satisfied just sending them one email and leaving it at that. If we want our quality wildlife and hunting channels back, we are going to have to drive them nuts with requests.

Thanks again guys and a special thanks to all those who were involved in founding WILD TV, because I just know we are going to get it, if we keep hounding them.

Hey everyone, since I work in the industry I'll put my two cents worth in... if and when Shaw makes a postive decision to move ahead it will mark national attention from cablecos becuase they're the second largest cablesystems company in Canada. In order to compete in every regional market the other cablecos will have to comply at some point so hang in there.

As far as DSS goes - Star Choice is fully owned by Shaw Cablesystems GP so it stands to reason that once Shaw Cable is listing Wild TV it will not take long (if not simultaneously) to broadcast Wild TV on Star Choice.

When that happens, if not beforehand, ExpressVu will follow suit to keep up the competition. Because of demographics Bell has a larger subscriber base nationally than Shaw so they're both very interested in what the competition is up to for High Speed Internet, DSS and Video.

PS - stay tuned because things are going to be getting pretty interesting for the tech-savvy consumers in the residential marketplace.

Anyone hear about Shaw Cable's press release today?... (Muddster  )

They released their year end financial results and disclosed their new upcoming service - they've partnered with Bell Canada to be the first provider in the consumer market to launch Internet Phone Service!
