This bear stands 14ft tall and weighs 1600 pounds. He wasn't taken with a bow, but the story of this bear is well worth the post.
Before he died, it took 4, 38MM slugs and 12 7mm slugs to stop him!!!
This bear also killed 3 people within 48hrs of someone finally killing him.

YT,
The story is crap. This has been on the 'net for the last 2 (?) years. Gets better every time it resurfaces.

LOL! yup...Did ya click the link that he posted tuff? LOL! It's a myth buster site. I have the real story on The BowZone here somewhere. Just search for Alaska Bear on the main site. It's in there somewhere.

 No I didn't try the link. The idiotic version has been rearing it's ugly head on a couple of other sites again and I figured it was the same story. At least YT's link had the disclaimer on the bottom!

What do you figure is the real story? Anyone got a line on the truth? It would be interesting to know the measurements on this bear. It looks very impressive, wouldn't you agree?

Jethro,
I think the link you put up is the real story. If you look at the second page/skull page it out-lines the fact and the fiction. Nice bear but still only #150 in the B&C book. When it was first shot one of the two guys was on the huntingnet.com site answering questions about it.

That bear would be good enough for me. I don't think I would pass it up either.
