newbie questions

hey guys very new to the sport, well i don't even have a bow yet. i am saving a few pennies here and there. i think that i want to get a compound bow to start with but i want to get something that i will not have to upgrade for a while. i don't really know where to look. i do have a guys number and will give him a call to meet with him to see what he has and to fit me. i was wondering if any of you guys out there could point me in a direction where i could read a few things to learn about the sport and gear. i don't want to break my bank but like a said i don't want to get a cheap bow and arrows that will be crap after a bit of use.

i live in new brunswick southern. the guy that a friend told me about is in sussex. i am hoping to get some reading done before i talk to him so i know a bit about the sport.

Browse the forums here on Bowzone for some equipment reading and some tactics. I thought at one time Bowzone had regional forums, but it appears though I'm mistaken....

scooter is the main mod here and you should PM him.... I would think it's only appropriate that he is the one to give out any other information (sorry scooter, didn't want to step on toes - just would like to help out a fellow archer)
