Hey guys. I was looking into ways to mount my hunting bow on my bicycle so I can get out of city limits to hunt small game, and came across ATV gun/bow mounts as a possible solutions, I just wanted to check if anyone has experience with these and can estimate if my idea would work.
Because of the vulnerable and nonstandard limbs of my bow, I would like to be able to mount it along my side attached to my horizontal cross bar, just far enough forward so my knees don't hit it and that should be low enough that my handle bars swing over it (the bow is layed horizontal). And because the only remotely flat part on my bow to attach to is the handle, i can only really use a single mount. I know that the bike to mount will probably work, but I am wondering if there are complex enough grips to hold my hand shaped handle. My bow is on the heavy side, especially when i add my quiver and hunting arrows.
I haven't ruled out attaching it to my handle bars but there really is not much space between my grips and none of it is flat, also parallel to my bike is less in the way, and attracts less attention on my way out of the city. I have actually just been caring my bow in my right hand down low is a similar position on my way to the shooting range and 80% of people don't even notice it.
Appreciate any response, as it is a fair distance and riding one handed can risk me falling and damaging my bow. -Adrian
