I am not trying to start a war.LOL
I shoot Primitive, longbow,Recurve and Compound so thats out of the way.
I am curious, how many of you have ever tried trad Bows.Do you still shoot trad and compound?
If you never shot Trad Bows why not?
If you have shot trad in the past why did you change to a compound?

My bow has training wheels  .I've never shot trad bows because they don't interest me.I do have an old Ben Pearson recurve target bow that I've tooled around with but I loose interest in it pretty quick.I guess I'm looking for that extra edge when I'm hunting, longer range, more kenetic energy.Maybe when I get bored of killing with modern technology I'll try the trad stuff out.,but I doubt it.

For that even extra edge I shoot a gun . Cowboys always win!
J/K I own a wheel bow, and have shot many animals with a bow, just cant seem to find the time anymore  too many hobbies. But I will get back into it, probably sooner than later. Trad bows have always interested me though, maybe I just found another hobby to the list

I shoot both. My primary bow is my compound mostly because of the added accurate distance I can get when hunting. I am playing around with my recurve this winter just to get proficient enough to try a deer at 30 yards or less. As I get older I just find it easier to shoot the compound. Holding 15 lbs as opposed to 52 lbs is just so much easier on the old body. It really doesn't matter what you shoot, just as long as you shoot.

I hunt with x-teck hoyt com.Don't have enough money to be doing both, wife would not let me spend all the money on hunting stuff!Never tried trad bows really,I would rather be really comfortable shooting one, then rather jumping back in forth from one to the other.

Over 20 years ago I took a deer and a bear with trad equipment. I got caught up in compounds for the next 20 years. Last year I decided to go back to trad as it was more meaningfull to me. I practised for the whole year and took a deer this fall at 19 yards, full pass thru on both lungs with no bells and whistles. It was just me and what expertise I have developed. It is basically the same as standing on the first tee on a golf course with a driver in your hand. Its just you the club and the ball. If you have not practised , you will not make the shot.

Shot 'curves and home made stuff as a kid, moved to compounds (fingers, 4 pins, no peep) then went back to curves and longbows about 11 or 12 years ago. I guess I'm a 180 from BlueNorther, compounds and the related gadgets don't interest me.
I shoot 55-60# bows, instinctive, and need about a day or two after a shooting lay off to be able shoot 4-5" groups at 40yds. Might not be tight enough to win many competitions but it's good enough to make critters dead.
RC ( if my 'release aid' goes missing I have bigger problems to worry about ...;))
