hey i am thinking about purchasing a new compound and i have typically shot recurves in the past i would still like to shoot instinctivly and with fingers if possible, and i was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what bow/rest combo plus any tips etc. do you think it is necessary to go to a 40 inch plus ata for fingers or is it possible to shoot something like the carbon matrix? any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you

If you're looking to shoot fingers, a shot ata is not what you want to play with. Longer ata will be your best bet. Tim Wells is a top finger compound shooter (Relentless Pursuit TV Show). Head down to your local pro shop and see what they have that will fit your needs.

A long ATA is what ya need more accurate and alot easier on your fingers not as much pinch with the longer bow.

Hoyt has a long a2a bow. It's pretty much the Chuck Adams bow. He is a finger shooter. In an interview with him a few years back he said there were only a couple compound bows on the market he recommended to shoot with fingers.

I personally would find something like a Hoyt Pro Tec or Ultra Tec with XT 3000 limbs ..... ... both of those are around the 40" mark for A2A .... I shot a Pro Tec with 3000 a while back and I still kick my own ass everytime I think of it .... I should not have sold it
