Hi. I have a sight that adjusts so the front pin does up and down, and there is a pin on the adjustment handle that goes up and down a florescent strip so that yardage can be marked down.
Is this ok for hunting?
I understand that I need to estimate the yardage, and I am training for that now.

Sounds like an HHA sight. I do not use one for hunting but know a few guys who do.

Ya I would use that for hunting .... I presently use an HHA 5519 sight and love it .... Extremly quick to adjust an has a huge sight window .... I like that about single pin sights

Adrian...I use the range rover for hunting...single vertical pin. Love it.
Here's what I do...I do a few different things with it.
If I'm in a tree and have max 20 yards shots I'll set it at 20 and leave it. If I can shoot out to 40 yards I'll set it at 30 yards. 20 yard shot I hold a low pin...40...a high pin. If I'm hunting and need to reach out, I'll use it as designed, range and set it to the distance.
You have to make a sight tape for it...I use Pinwheel Software to build the sight tapes and a ton of other things. It's a great program...worth having in your arsenal for tuning your bow and choosing arrows.
Hope that helps.

Do you find that method ever gets confusing seeing as the height correction at one distance is not the same at a different distance (ie, not a linear profile). Would adjusting your sights not be worth the risk?
