Mule Deer Rut Dates ?

When do you guys see the mule deer go into the seeking/chasing/breeding rut phases as compared to Whitetail?

Honestly, no idea - I'm usually done by the time they're actually rutting. BUT muley bucks do tend to move a lot the last week of November.

I have seen the same thing Russ. The last day of the season I was run over by a buck that was after a doe and I was in his way. I wasn't sure if it was a second rut.

What do you mean you're done by then? Do you mean you've already shot your mule deer before the rut?

I've either shot it or my license has expired. I haven't had an Antlered Special Mule Deer license since 2001 or 2002. My draw priority is 8 or 10 or something like that, but come October 31st I'm pretty much done since I don't usually go out west or wherever the general tag is legal.

I haven't experienced it myself, but talking to a guy that has hunted later in the season for mule deer that it peaks later in November.
