with bow season closely approching i want to pick up a crossbow.
the shops around here are limited to Bass Pro and AlFlerities
http://www.alflahertys.com/products.php?page=5&cat_id=30&sub_cat_id=260&pr_code=&search_string=

bass pro doesnt show Canadian prices on their site....whole other story...
anyway...im trying to decided if i should go with a cam and pulley system or a reflex X-bow?
what are the advantages and disadvantages of both?
any recommendations? not looking for the best, but i want to be able to legally hunt with it, im going for deer but also geting a Bear tag just incase, so it has to be rated minimum for bear.

im also just considering buying a muzzleloader 50 cal... same open season as bows and i have a compound bow.

My advice is to go with a recurve crossbow like an Excalibur. Bullet proof design, less components to fail, easily replace a string in the field, no cam timing issues and less damage if you accidentally dry fire (dry fire a compound crossbow and you will have a pile of parts)

pick yourself up a barnet revolution, or quad 400. both awesome machines. redneck is right about simplicity. if you can afford it go bowtech strykzone 350, or the barnett predator. both are just intense!
