View Full Version : How silence your bow in a pinch

Sitting here this morning reading different articles on the site I realized that I needed to make one part of my bow quieter. When the arrow falls off of the rest and lands on the shelf of the overdraw it clangs like a schoolyard bell. So I got to wondering what to do about it for this afternoon's hunt. As I don't have any moleskin left I started a search and this is what I came up with. Johnson and Johnson waterproof medical tape. Sure it's white but after a minute or two with a black water proof marker who knows it's there! Oh by the way colour it black AFTER it is off the roll, we don't want any chemicals on the remainder as it may contaminate a wound if you need it. It doesn't completely get rid of the clang... it changes it to a quieter more dull thud which when in a pinch is better than nothing!

Agreed Daffy,

Also I use just regular cloth bandaids, and just use some of my camo paint to color them in.

I replace it every so often!

Good tip thought!
