Good morning everyone,
Here is a bit of interesting info for you regarding your toppo maps.
The Canadian government is no longer printing toppo maps on Tyvek. I read this on a website yesterday while trying to find out some info on potential hunting territory. I called a couple of local suppliers and they still have them in stock. I suggest if you want one for any area you try to pick it up as soon as possible as paper maps are the only alternative. The cost of a paper map when laminated is actually a bit cheaper but not by much and it will not last as long.
Just thought this might be useful info to someone.

Thanks Daffy. That's no good that they are not printing them anymore. What site did you hear this on? I am going to do a little more research on this. It seems kind of odd that they would stop printing them.

I use the etopo maps for my area on CD. and OziXplorer to view and change waypoints etc. They work well and can be printed on large format paper.

This way, I can print and do what I need to do.

Sorry I can't remember the site. It was a comercial site which was selling software. (digital maps and etc.) However I could see this as being true as we all know if the government can save money on printing they will and not to mention they will make more money by having us buy extra maps as the paper ones get destroyed so easily. When it comes to monetary issues like this some politicians see it all backwards as far as I'm concerned, but thats not for this site so... I suppose I'll just shut my mouth now while the shutting's good. Or something like that!!!
